Bob Kauffman, from RuffsDale, Pennsylvania, has been involved in tractor pulling for over five decades. He pulls a naturally aspirated, 10 mph limited Farmall 560 tractor known as Bantam Red. Bob originally purchased the tractor with his father 35 years ago, and together they enjoyed many successful seasons in the Modified Stock classes—including championship wins in the WPTTPA 5500 and 7500 lb. classes in 1992.
After a break from the sport to focus on family, Bob recently rebuilt Bantam Red and returned to pulling. In 2024, he finished second in points in the Limited Classic class with The Appalachian Outlaws. The tractor now competes primarily in the 6500 lb. class, with additional runs in the 5000 lb. and up classes.
Powered by a modified Farmall 301 engine, Bantam Red runs on race gas and features numerous “home grown” modifications. For safety, the tractor is equipped with a billet steel flywheel, safety blanket, side shields, and ignition/fuel kill switch.
Bob pulls primarily in Pennsylvania, Ohio, and Maryland. He and his wife Josie enjoy traveling to events and meeting fellow enthusiasts. Stop by his display—he’s always happy to talk tractors.
